"While boasting pentagenarian status one evening my children informed me “I’m ugly for young but pretty for old”! I thanked them for their outspoken forthrightness, sent them straight to bed with no electronic devices, poured some tequila in my chocolate milk and reminded myself I’m just real, like us all. As landscaper’s of our lives we create and pursue what we choose, for me, it's not just the view in my mirror that counts it's embracing the view of me, in yours."   Bethel D.

Bethel’s path as an entertainer was forged in an environment of discipline, challenge, and an insatiable joy for performance. Beginning her journey with ballet at age four and violin at nine, she was inspired by the legends of the stage—and she hasn't stepped off it since.

The Foundations - Her professional evolution took her from Margaret Nelson’s studio near Chicago to Los Angeles, where she studied under Mahri Koshover. It was there she learned to view herself not just as a dancer, but as a vital part of the global arts and entertainment family. After refining her craft at New York University and immersing herself in the world of Merce Cunningham, Bethel returned to LA to launch her professional career. This era was defined by the "hustle"—balancing teaching and auditions with rigorous dance study.

Advocacy & Impact - In the 1980s, Bethel became an active voice in the empowerment of the Los Angeles dance community. Working with the Dancers Alliance, she helped secure long-overdue recognition and fair pay guidelines within the AFTRA and SAG unions. This experience ignited a lifelong passion for human behavior and the belief that intentional action creates real change.

Career Highlights - Bethel has had the distinct honor of performing alongside some of the industry’s greatest icons:

  • Mikhail Baryshnikov

  • Michael Jackson

  • Cher

The Next Generation - While raising her two children on Maui, Bethel turned her focus toward vocal performance and songwriting. This led to the creation of "Next Generation," a collection of "education with a beat." The project reflects her studies under Dr. John Demartini, incorporating principles of balance and quantum physics applied to human psychology. Today, Bethel’s mission is simple: to live a life of gratitude, doing what she loves and loving what she does.

Warning: Her passion is contagious.

  • Kenny Ortega’s Dirty Dancers (National Tour)

  • Rollerblade’s Extreme Team (National Tour)

  • Showstoppers (Las Vegas)
